Despite bitter
cold and a winter storm warning, December 21st the snows ceased and
the wind died down. All but two of the
people involved in the Christmas play were able to be at church and Hope had a
surprisingly full house for the Children’s Christmas performance. This year’s performance was based on
Scripture readings from “The Message” and a script written by Pastor Roger that
pondered what it’s like in the 21st century to be a single mom, a
present versus an absent father, a shepherd-like person going out of the way to
see the good in someone or a wise one with important gifts to give.Statistics on what it is like in the 21st
century to be a child were also shared. For many children life hardly seems a treasure. So, Hope also had a special offering 1/3 to
Heifer Project, 1/3 to Rice County Salvation Army, and 1/3 to Hope Church
programming to continue to spread the story of Jesus.Perhaps you were unable to make it on that
chilly morning.The Christmas program
will be available on video tape; a few pictures are below. And, you may still give to any of the 3 to
make the world a better place for children—each of whom bears the image of God.
