Wed. Kids at Pleasant Manor 2/10/10
Hope UMC - Wed. Kids enjoyed an afternoon singing at Pleasant Manor. Feb. 10th we piled in the vehicles for an outing. Residents heard the Wednesday Kids sing "King Jesus Is All" among others. After hearing "The Butterfly Song" and seeing the motions, one woman said, "I want to hear that one again." The residents also sang along with "Amazing Grace" and "Jesus Loves Me." (more)

Ostermann Memorial Maples September 11, 2009
Lucas and April wished to plant new trees that would save days of work each fall in memory of Lucas' dad Everett who loved nature. So it was a tribute, an honoring of the life and loves of Everett Ostermann became a beautiful, creative solution to an ongoing yearly problem of parking lot apple clean up. More than that, the trees are a sign of life even in the midst of loss. As they grow Lucas and April will be able to tell their son Garrett about his grandpa's love of nature and the stories of his life and values. (more)

Transformation 1 Cup at a Time June 25, 2009
Hope Church attempts to be in intentional ministry beyond our doors. Sometimes we are engaged in so many things, it's easy to forget just how radical the simplest of things are. Rosemarie Marraccini reminded us on a recent Sunday that we were years ahead of the curve when we joined in Transforming the World One Cup at a Time with Equal Exchange Coffee. (more)

Easter Angels April 7, 2009
The elderly couple walked by me and I thanked them again for the gift they'd given us of letting us take their picture. The woman spoke words that left me speechless. I tried to tell my wife their story in the conservatory…and choked up. I tried to tell her when we got outside and could not get the words out. All the way home I kept trying to tell their story without being overwhelmed by tears…of wonder and awe. Easter Sunday you will see their faces hear the story that left me speechless. (more)

Hope Children's Christmas Program December 21, 2008
Despite bitter cold and a winter storm warning, December 21st the snows ceased and the wind died down. All but two of the people involved in the Christmas play were able to be at church and Hope had a surprisingly full house for the Children's Christmas performance. This year's performance was based on Scripture readings from "The Message" and a script written by Pastor Roger that pondered what it's like in the 21st century to be a single mom...(click to continue) (more)

Parents with Children Night 8/15/08
Instead of the usual Wed. Kids Lock-in for Elementary children, this year Hope decided to have a parents with children event. For the first time in a while, Hope UMC has over a dozen children in the pre-school to 2nd grade age. It seemed like a great time for the parents of those children to share some of their hopes and dreams for their children's faith development. (click to read more) (more)

Do you remember what you got for Christmas last year? Larry and Nancy DeCoux remember. Pondering Christmas, both felt blessed and decided what would make them happy was helping others. So, they gave to the foodshelf instead of themselves. And, they gave an idea to Hope Church. Every month Hope collects a different item for the food shelf. (more)

Images of a Hope Christmas 1/13/08
Each year along with Christmas Eve services, Hope has a Church School Christmas Program, Hanging of the Greens Sunday and a Living Nativity Sunday. Instead of letting the beauty and meaning of the season slip away, enjoy a few photos of Christmas at Hope. Remember, when Jesus came into the world, immediately he needed others to care for him. There are still those who vulnerable--who need the care and compassion. In honor of Jesus, take a moment to be kind. Find ways to give. (more)
